Patrick's story

I'm a founder and managing partner at Undefined Ventures.  I particularly enjoy working with founders to explore healthcare, wellness, validate ideas, talk to customers, and design businesses.

I represent Undefined on the board of Equal Health.

Prior to Undefined, I helped build an enterprise B2B SaaS company that was acquired in 2014 by TUNE, a Seattle-based marketing startup, where I eventually became Director of Product.

Like many founders, my path to startups wasn't straight-forward. I reached an inflection point when Andy Sack, then-Managing Director of Techstars Seattle, after I asked for his opinion on my dropping out of law school, said, "You'd be an idiot not to."

Many would-be founders just need that push, that slap over the head, to see the opportunity right in front of them. I've never looked back.

Outside of work, I absolutely adore spending time with my wife and son, taking wine & surf trips when we can, reading about businesses lost and found, and trying new things, like triathlon, learning German (ein bißchen), sailing, or playing (it's more falling than playing) hockey as an absolute adult beginner.

I graduated with a B.A in History from the University of California, San Diego and, if they gave out partial degrees, would have a ⅔ law degree from the University of Washington with a focus on corporate transactions.
